Me and Latibu in Gita
Thank you for visiting my site! My name is Andrea Fernanda Serrano and in January 2009, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Uganda, Africa. A year before my trip, I became involved with an organization called Building Tomorrow on my college campus. The trip was originally scheduled for January 2008, but because of the shortage of gas in Uganda due to the violence in Kenya, the trip was postponed until the following year. Through this website, I share my personal memories, photographs and experiences in hopes of helping you develop an understanding, appreciation, and connection with Uganda and Building Tomorrow.

I want to thank my parents for their limitless support, love, and encouragement. Without them, the trip would not have been possible and without their lessons, I would not have grown from my experiences. I have also received limitless support from the rest of my family and would not be who I am today without their love.

Thank you to the staff of Building Tomorrow, especially George and Maggie, for their guidance, encouragement, and inspiration. What you have done and continue to do for the children of Uganda and for your communities, local and global, is a great inspiration to me. I am so fortunate to have you guys as friends and role models.

Thank you to Professor Lindland for teaching the wonderful class, Cultural Differences and Social Change. Your guidance, wisdom, experience, and love for understanding and knowledge bring an atmosphere to the class that easily makes it one of my favorite at Notre Dame. Thank you for the opportunity to share my experiences and for your guidance in developing a successful project.

Thanks also to my friends for allowing me to share my stories with you and encouraging me to continue following me heart. :)
